STARGAZER FORECAST AUGUST 2016

TAKING AIM: VIRGO, SAGITTARIUS, AND THE ULTIMATE PRECISION

Mars exits the intense recesses of Scorpio on the 2nd, signaling a palpable change of atmosphere as it shifts into fiery Sagittarius. We emerge from the nether regions, having delved over several long months in-depth consideration of many of our most personal issues, new vistas open before us as we begin to embrace the future and the possibilities that lie ahead. It’s not all fun and games, though the Leo Sun transit may tempt us to think so. A strong Saturn influence as well as several activations to the North Node in Virgo, indicate August is future oriented, particularly where we are embarking on long range goals (Saturn) that have eluded us since last Spring. Reorientation has been required, and a Mars double dip in Scorpio charged us with the task of purging the relationships and activities that were preventing us from engaging in truthful and meaningful emotional exchanges. The motto of the last few months could have been “Go Deep or Go Home”.

This meaningful inquiry into the nature of desire itself has been of paramount importance since the very beginning of the year. It may be we don’t fully comprehend the powerful changes that have transpired (many have occurred in the recesses of the subconscious after all,) until Mars shifts signs. From the 2nd onward you may become more aware of precisely how different things are now, and perhaps ready to acknowledge the end of a significant relationship or to relinquish a way of life extensively explored during the prior phase. What ever the outward manifestation is, the perceptible change in consciousness should be observed as this is where you have gained the most perspective. All have undergone a period of critical evolution and metamorphosis in some area of life.

Mars in Sagittarius is motivated and ready for action. The road is perilous though and dicey aspects (Mars conjunct Saturn Aug. 24th, Mars square Neptune Aug. 26th, square Nodal Axis Aug. 29th) have to be navigated conscientiously. These transits can also imply our circumstances compel us to deal with certain evasive and challenging issues as a matter of priority. Mars – Saturn is the toughest nut to crack, beginning a two year cycle in which we first have to confront the obstacle and take up action to remedy the situation. Difficulty can lie in the paradoxical nature of these planets: Mars seeks to take immediate and direct action, Saturn a strategic and deliberate course. With Saturn direct from the 13th, we can begin to take initiative to fix the Saturn problem and form a plan of action to do so. We’ll begin to see the positive results of what we begin now in early December when Mars and Saturn sextile. Mars – Neptune is slippery and evasive, but can reveal where we may have deluded ourselves (or been deluded). This is not a good time for action, although creative inspiration will be high, and artistic activities may prove rewarding. Mars on the Nodal Axis at the end of the month super charges our evolutionary directives, though this can be unsettling where we haven’t fully embraced developing the North Node – Virgo attributes we are called upon to through this transit.

Venus will also endure a bit of a rough ride this month, so where we may have thought we were hopefully closing in on resolution of our inter-personal dynamics in the aftermath of the Mars retrograde cycle, there is a bit of a work in progress vibe over the first two weeks. Venus square Mars on the 6th, which can be very frustrating where a relationship is not living up to our perception of it’s potential or satisfying romantic or sexual longings. There can be a real sense of urgency to solve/resolve a situation in the moment, or simply to bail if circumstances provoke our temper to get out of control. There is great value in examining our feelings today, as they can be very instructive in revealing what needs to be worked on, even if aggravation or disappointment is a part of that examination, it is telling you where you need to build more satisfying conditions in your relationships, or even to move away from a situation which is not fulfilling your true desires. Venus square Saturn (Aug. 13th) and opposite Neptune (Aug. 14th) also reveal intensive confrontations within our partnerships. Saturn will weed out the weak or impractical and Neptune provides either a deliriously romantic ambience or shatters our illusions. How we experience these aspects correlates directly to the legitimacy of our relationships. This final gauntlet proves, for better or for worse, if our affections lie in the hands of those worthy of receiving them. Meticulous Virgo energy predominates throughout the month as Mercury, Venus (from the 5th), Jupiter and the Sun (from the 22nd) transits provide a positive climate for organization and handling the details of a project or enterprise. Mercury will enter retrograde shadow on the 10th, so you may notice the pace slows down over the rest of the month. There is an initial reevaluation taking place as we move towards the retrograde cycle commencing at the end of the month. This makes the first 10 days of the month the most productive we’ll have for quite some time. You may still be active throughout August, but put the organization, planning and agreements into place by the 10th to maximize your productivity over the next two months. Mercury – North Node (August 8th) and Venus – North Node (August 16th) signal exciting developments triggering positive karmic implications for future oriented activities. Communication and romantic alliances have beneficial undertones, and fateful meetings or occurrences may transpire around these dates. Equally significant will be clues revealed on the 6th and 13th, as Mercury and Venus transit the eclipse degree (9 Virgo), stimulating events or awareness signaling what is to manifest in a few weeks time.

Saturn remains stationary at 9 Sagittarius for most of the month, turning direct on the 13th. (If you have planets or chart angles in Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or Sagittarius near this degree, this can prove a challenging, but pivotal period for you.) As Saturn marches forward once again, it moves towards it’s third and final exact square to Neptune at the end of the month. This culminates in it’s highest intensity on September 10th, the difficulties diminish from there onwards. As the Virgo eclipse (September 1st) falls in such hard alignment to Saturn – Neptune, it’s influence is strongly felt throughout the last week of August through the first week of September. As with any eclipse, there is the opportunity for change. The Lunar Eclipses signal endings, and Solar Eclipses, like the upcoming one in Virgo, stimulate beginnings. The beginning we’ll seek to make will require arduous work and complex maneuvering to take root. It really does not help that Mercury will be in retrograde at the time, as solutions will be even harder to come by. In some ways, though, it’s possible the eclipse can provide the necessary catalyst to overcome a circumstance, obstacle (Saturn) or illusion (Neptune) in order to embrace what is being offered.

Lunations this month are far easier to handle, and stimulate incredible momentum within the ongoing storylines that will culminate positively at the end of the year during the Saturn – Uranus trine in late December. The New Moon on the 2nd at 10 Leo harmonizes to Saturn, lending stability and endurance for beginnings made and opportunities that arise at this time. A mild Lunar eclipse occurs at 25 Aquarius on the 17th, portending changes, (though none so critical or life changing as what is on tap for next month!) harmonizing fruitfully with a now retrograde Uranus, we may see a fortuitous culmination for activities we began in February. Socially and intellectually this is a vibrant period in which collaborations and innovative projects can come to positive resolution. This vibration underscores events around Jupiter quincunx Uranus on the 13th, which continues to urge us to find an unconventional solution. Circumstances in early November 2015 and again in March compelled action to manifest a goal representing innovation. Though Virgo, Jupiter influences us to apply methodical and practical approach within this endeavor. Initiative taken now also ties into completions revealed this December, as Jupiter plays a big role (opposite Uranus/sextile Saturn) from Libra at that time. STARGAZER OCTOBER 2015 FORECAST ~ MAGIC + MANIFESTATION

While events last month may have sent life into splatter mode, we have several opportunities in October to pick up the pieces, get organized and manifest our objectives. Venus, Mars and Jupiter all transit fastidious Virgo, compelling us to take up the tasks we have set for ourselves, empowered immensely by positive contacts as all three transit Pluto, now direct, in Capricorn. (Dates below!) The tenderness and affection that has been lacking over the prior months as Venus transited in retrograde, then a shell of her former self in retrograde shadow, concludes on the 10th. A final square to Saturn on the same day is one last test we’ll (or our partnerships) need to endure or overcome. From there the pervasive ick factor that has predominated quickly recedes into distant memory. It is a time to release situations past their expiration date or get serious and make a commitment. The ones that make it through were genuinely built to last and Pluto contacts will bestow alluring and passionate developments within relationships that survived the course. Some will experience this as positive material developments and find that it is easier to turn up income, gain money and resources from others, or even both. This is the good news. Oppositions to Neptune, meanwhile, obfuscate situations considerably, and particularly with Mars – Neptune there can be a crushing reality check if we have deceived ourselves or others. All this stuff ties into what we put into motion last February – March. The Pisces eclipse in March was a crucial turning point, and we’ll see fruits from our efforts or the results of decisions we made in that period now. It’s also possible the Neptune contacts are highly romantically charged, and there can be some really enchanting exchanges up ahead! Tune into how you feel during these contacts, and if the bubble bursts or you find yourself disillusioned or disappointed, much better to scrap it now than genuinely struggle next month when Saturn squares Neptune and demands a complete realignment where we have been delusional.

With the eclipses in the rear view mirror and Mercury direct from the 9th, this is a far more productive time in which to get the wheels turning on a crucial endeavors that had been way-sided or turned upside-down. Conjunctions from Virgo planets to Jupiter set the stage for auspicious beginnings and can provide opportunities to generate growth and prosperity. Clarity is crucial to success at this time. Virgo’s ability to get right into the nitty gritty, ask every question and scrutinize every last detail can be exhausting for those of us more on the free spirited side, but there is great value in embracing these attributes right now. If you really can’t manage the details, then get someone on your team who can! The method is nearly as important as the out come in this phase. The North Node also enters Virgo on the 11th, placing the evolutionary consciousness on efficient, stream lined organization and conscientious behavior and life style choices. More attention must be given to the management of both professional and personal habits as dissipation and tendencies towards drifting, grifting and day dreaming in particular will meet with bad auspices. This will become most apparent in about a year when the South Node connects to Neptune end October/early November next year. The evolutionary drive of this node placement is towards creating systems of total efficiency, in which nothing is superfluous, where everything is there for a precise reason. Discretion is necessary for growth. Coupled with Pluto, which also serves a purging, regenerative function, there is the possibility of really getting rid of negative habits, relationships or spiritual energy that is toxic, or holding us back somehow. This is the evolutionary intent anyway. Personally I would hope to see the Jupiter – Pluto trine specifically (which occurs three times in all between now and next Summer) to offer some advancements on an ecological level, aiding humanity to find ways to conserve resources through emerging technology and the reduction of waste, though of course you can use the transit(s) to find a way to play your own part 🙂 We got a taste of these themes during the Virgo eclipse last month.

Mercury towards the end of it’s retrograde cycle (ending Oct. 9) engages in a long conversation with Saturn, (from the 6th – 14th) so it seems negotiations at this point surround our objectives and long range goals. This is augmented by the positive presence of the North Node conjunct Mercury throughout the same period, with their exact conjunction occurring precisely as Mercury turns direct. Successful integration of the evolutionary directives of North Node Libra pays off nicely, assuming we took the cue. The ability to work with another in tandem – whether within a relationship, business or creative endeavor – now opens us to incredibly positive opportunities over the next month, with the New Moon in Libra revealing all the juicy details.

Jupiter enters retrograde shadow this same day (October 12th) meaning the degrees it passes over now through the beginning of the retrograde cycle (beginning early January 2016) will be revisited between now and next August. Our personal scope of discovery, expansion and success is going to be a work in progress from here through next Summer. This is fine, we’re off to a fabulous start with all the Jupiter conjunctions this month and so many wonderful opportunities taking root this month! August packs a bit of a punch, and while there will be some positive results and returns, especially for innovative endeavors begun last Spring, our long range goals and especially love or financial arrangements can be visited by testing influences at this time. Much of this has to do with Venus retrograde, not a completely infrequent occurrence, but a challenging one for matters of the heart and forming partnerships for either business or pleasure. The retro phase allows for some pulse enhancing double and triple takes – we may get another chance on a love relationship that slipped through our fingers – and fantastic connections between Venus to Jupiter (Aug. 4 + October 25th), Uranus (Aug. 19 + September 24) as well as really passionate contacts with Mars (September 1 + November 1st) offer some really vibrant exchanges. Meanwhile the Saturn square (exact on Aug. 5 + October 10th) can signal delays or challenges within a partnership. It may also just represent a period of reappraisal, where we don’t quite know where we stand with another or even in relation to our own feelings! It’s acceptable to step back, evaluate and see what is and what is not working in our relationships. What is good to know is that relationships that survive this critical period were really meant to last. Venus resumes direct motion on September 6th.

In the context of a meaningful love connection, neither Venus retrograde or the Venus – Saturn square will be enough to derail a relationship if it is fundamentally good, but may provide obstacles in the form of separations or obligations that somehow keep a partnership from really coming together during this period. When Venus and Saturn engage, we really begin to question whether the relationship is worth moving forward with, does a relationship have what it takes to endure through the next phase of our development? This is a question we may not be able to answer until October, as the final aspect occurs October 10th, at precisely the same time as the end of the Venus retrograde shadow phase. By then Saturn is in Sagittarius and we are more tuned into our new, long range objectives. Through that time we are restructuring and determining the appropriateness and durability of our relationships, and building a new life with new ingredients in order to accommodate them.

The period from 2nd through the 7th is very pivotal, as Saturn resumes direct motion, then is promptly squared by Jupiter, Venus and Mercury all in Leo. Woah! Meanwhile, Venus conjunct Jupiter and Mercury conjunct Jupiter all insist upon a lighthearted and open ambience for exchange. Saturn in Scorpio forces us to dig deep and ensure alliances and commitments are meaningful and will allow us to transcend what we can do individually through working together. These aspects can represent poignant awareness of limitations and what we might need to release, either from within our emotional selves or through our relationships. Scorpio can have a tendency to self protective and defensive behavior when the vulnerable deeper feelings are activated, but really what Saturn is teaching and pushing us towards is revealing those emotions in order to create the profound level of trust required in our most intimate alliances.

While quite challenging, this is actually a very instructive period, if we stay attuned to the deeper message. School of hard knocks life lessons via Saturn in Scorpio can be tough, but these square aspects, and this whole first week of August will illuminate (possibly through confrontational situations or bittersweet feelings connected to a potential separation) the responsibility we must accept to take the next significant step towards maturity, security and a lasting resolution to the message of Saturn in Scorpio. Where it lies in your chart is what needs working on, and at least, with Saturn direct that work can begin now with the realizations that will likely come to light during the first week of the month. Acknowledging our personal limitations or obstacles may feel quite prickly, and the circumstances we contend with may feel quite obstinate, but are very valuable in pointing us not only towards what we really desire, but what needs to be resolved to get there. Another note, if you are in contract or other personal – professional negotiations that need to be resolved, this month (Venus retro not withstanding) is superior to September or October, which sees a Mercury retrograde phase through Libra.

Jupiter enters Virgo on the 11th, providing a real shift in orientation which will emphasize the practical and methodical. New value will be placed on efficiency and coming up with strategies for the implementation of practices that enhance productivity and wellness. Jupiter’s expansive influence is somewhat mitigated by the narrow focus of Virgo, but from an earth sign, and coupled with the influence of Saturn in direct motion, there is the positive indication of manifesting in the material realm and seeing tangible results for our output, which has primarily been theoretical through the heavy fire sign emphasis that has predominated this year. This is a positive period in which to put our thoughts into practice, with a brilliant culmination on the 26th as the Sun and Jupiter conjunct at 3 degrees of Virgo, stimulating a year long opportunity for expansion though conscientious and meticulous attention to detail and results oriented activities.

Dates to look out for are the (Sun) 2nd, (Mars) the 9th and also (Mercury) the 14th. There is an open and receptive quality to events and exchanges at these times, and we can tap reservoirs of deep compassion and imagination.
